In 1925 it took $100 to purchase enough land to build a six-hole sand green golf course. We can only wonder if those eighty-three original shareholders knew how far their investment would go a century later. In 1978, Mr. RA (Bob) Steele purchased the land and, in partnership with Les Farber, would eventually expand the course to 18 holes.
Through the years, many passionate people have nurtured the course to become one of the most respected golf facilities in Western Canada. They believed in building a unique course that embodied the spirit and creativity of the founding members and incorporated the natural beauty of the slopes of Mount Ida.
The Club now honours its heritage by continuing to combine the simple enjoyment of a memorable golf experience with hospitality in a beautiful setting. Offering excellent service, magnificent facilities and breathtaking scenery, the Ironwood Restaurant is the perfect setting for lunch with co-workers or dinner with the family. Our everyday menu coupled with daily specials ensures that there is always something to please every appetite. We are a family friendly environment! Our Hilltop concession is open daily during peak times.
Our hours are currently fluid due to staffing challenges and by weather and golf conditions so please be advised to call ahead if you are coming in specifically for the dining room on questionable weather days. All of our staff thank you for your continued support and patience!
