GolfNorth Properties, Canada’s leading golf course consolidator, is thrilled to announce another public golf option, with the addition of Hornby Glen Golf Club. Effective April 1, 2024, this exciting news further strengthens GolfNorth’s position as a premier provider of exceptional golf experiences across Canada.
Nestled at the foot of the Halton Hills in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment, Hornby Glen Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole public track that was built in 1964 taking advantage of the area’s distinct rolling terrain. With the perfect balance of tree-lined holes, active fairways and challenging obstacles—the layout is gentle enough for beginners, but also provides an excellent test for more advanced golfers at the same time. The course plays three different lengths: from the Red – 5,179 yards, White – 6,167 yards, and over 6,606 yards from the Blue tees.
The addition of Hornby Glen Golf Club expands GolfNorth’s presence in the Greater Toronto Area, complementing its diverse portfolio of Canadian golf courses. Hornby Glen is easily accessible to golfers from Milton, Georgetown, Oakville, Burlington, and surrounding areas—conveniently located just off the 401 at Trafalgar Road. Hornby Glen was closed for renovations in 2023, and GolfNorth looks forward to welcoming back regional golfers in the spring of 2024.
“This addition aligns with our commitment to provide golf enthusiasts with a wide variety of rewarding golf, at the best possible value. We look forward to building upon Hornby Glen’s legacy and delivering an unparalleled golfing experience,” explained Shawn Evans, GolfNorth President and CEO.
The property offers many of the amenities of a private club, including a welcoming clubhouse and friendly pro shop, while still providing the attractive price structure of a public course. Coupled with a longstanding commitment to quality greens and superior customer service, Hornby Glen has been one of the best values in the Greater Toronto Area for the last 50 years. The attentive and experienced staff are sure to make you feel welcome upon arriving at the course.
Hornby Glen provides the ideal golf experience for beginners, weekend players, group golf outings, and low handicappers looking to whip their game into shape. Because the course was designed to be user-friendly and with playability and tournaments in mind, there is always a good pace of play, with plenty of time to enjoy the nineteenth hole—a sunny new patio deck overlooking the beautiful, generous greens.
“Since 1964, Hornby Glen has been offering the best possible value to the golfing public, which is exactly what GolfNorth strives to do,” added Evans. “We are committed to maintaining Hornby Glen’s status as a beloved destination for golf enthusiasts of all levels, and I would like to personally thank the Hornby Glen management team for allowing us to be the stewards of this cherished facility. We are excited to embark on this new chapter together.”
Hornby Glen Golf Club will remain 100% public with opportunities for dining, special events, corporate outings, tournaments, and meetings. GolfNorth’s online booking system will ensure seamless, speedy, and convenient reservations for golfers booking a tee time. Everyone is invited to experience the hospitality, friendly service, and attentive staff—inside the cosy clubhouse or outside on the spacious patio. Keep an eye on the website and all social media channels for Hornby Glen’s 2024 opening date.
